We recently advised on pre-sale planning for a business where it was necessary to reorganise the company structure to place the business in a separate company from the investment assets held by the original company. This necessitated a reorganisation of the company that split the business away from the investments into a separate standalone company. This was agreed in advance with the Revenue and no tax costs arose on the reorganisation.
